Don't Call Me Baby.

Endearments, hmm.
My people, wetin endearment go cause the result no go fit bear am o.
In case you don't know, endearments are expression of affection and affection is attributed as 'Kind feeling; love; zealous or tender attachment; settled good will.'
So obviously, when you use any form of endearment, it simply shows that you care.
Now, my problem is not that endearments exist, my problem is that this generation abuses it.
Actually everyone is emotional, though men are more logical than women and nowadays people talk without thinking about the effect.
The wrong use of endearment is like filling a balloon till it gets big and then when it can not take the air anymore or a sharp object (rejection) comes in contact with it, it burst forth with feelings regarded as crushes, love and infatuation most of the time.
I think Yorubas will say, 'Nnkan ti eeyan o ba fe' je, eeyan kii fi run'mu.';'What you do not want to eat, do not smell it.'
Okay, in movies why do you think when the handsome guy talks and calls his admirer sweet names, she gets hyper? It is because an admirer counts use of endearment as an encouragement to go on.
You guys might just be friends but before you know it, feelings set in because of constant emotional fuel of sweetness.
All these guys in my Generation that loves all the girls on their contacts have 12 baes, 8 sweethearts, 5 babies, and only one girl that they truly love, wehdone sirs.
And you ladies that are dating guys that they don't know they are dating you, wehdone mas.
And the other set of ladies that are allowing some poor guys to be hoping against hope due to your 'I love you', 'You are the best.' meanwhile they have been brother zoned a long time ago, wehdone mas.
Just as a lyric read, 'Don't call me baby, unless you mean it.' I put my pen to rest here.
