Endearments, hmm. My people, wetin endearment go cause the result no go fit bear am o. In case you don't know, endearments are expression of affection and affection is attributed as 'Kind feeling; love; zealous or tender attachment; settled good will.' So obviously, when you use any form of endearment, it simply shows that you care. Now, my problem is not that endearments exist, my problem is that this generation abuses it. Actually everyone is emotional, though men are more logical than women and nowadays people talk without thinking about the effect. The wrong use of endearment is like filling a balloon till it gets big and then when it can not take the air anymore or a sharp object (rejection) comes in contact with it, it burst forth with feelings regarded as crushes, love and infatuation most of the time. I think Yorubas will say, 'Nnkan ti eeyan o ba fe' je, eeyan kii fi run'mu.';'What you do not want to eat, do not smell it.' ...
